Live plants cannot be shipped outside of Saskatoon & area safely due to unregulated temperatures in the transportation methods used by shipping companies.
If you have requested curbside pickup, you will receive a secondary email notifying you when your plants are ready to be picked up.
Please pick up your plant within 48 hours of being notified that it is ready for pickup!
Calathea may be a little more tricky to care for, but the results are well worth the stunning foliage.
Calathea Care:
LIGHT
Low to medium light
- Cannot withstand full sun! Will tolerate low light, but will thrive with indirect, filtered light.
WATER
Medium water needs
- Water when the top layer of soil becomes slightly dry, to maintain even moisture throughout the soil.
- Curling leaves might indicate under-watering! However, do not let the plant sit in water.
CLIMATE
High humidity + room temperature
- To keep humidity high, a humidifier or pebble tray may be a good idea!
- Consistent temperatures are key! Avoid drafts, vents, or heat sources.
SOIL
Well-draining soil
- A rich, well-draining potting mix is ideal, with substrates like peat, sand, and perlite.
FERTILIZER
During the growing season
- Use a liquid tropical fertilizer once or twice monthly, at a diluted concentration during the growing season.
Fun Fact: Like prayer plants, Calathea's foliage may move with the daylight, to help keep its nutrients and water in check!
