  • The 'Blue Parrot' tulip is a striking, late-blooming perennial flower, it is highly celebrated for its distinctive, feathery texture and deep coloration.
  • Depth: Dig your holes or trench 15 cm (6 inches) deep, measuring from the base of the bulb to the surface. Planting deeply protects the bulbs from temperature extremes and foraging pests.

Orientation: Place each bulb into the soil with the pointed tip facing straight up and the flat, wider side resting on the bottom.

Spacing: For a beautiful, full-looking garden display, space the bulbs roughly 10 cm (4 inches) apart. As recommended by planting in clusters of 5, 7 or more bulbs will have a more visually appealing display.

Sunlight: Select a spot that receives full sun (at least 6 hours of direct sunlight daily).

Wind Protection: Because parrot tulips develop heavy, ruffled flower heads on tall 55 cm (22") stems, they can be vulnerable to snapping. Plant parrot tulip bulbs in the fall in a sheltered spot, away from high winds.

Soil: Ensure the soil is well-draining. Like all tulips, 'Blue Parrot' bulbs will rot if left sitting in waterlogged, heavy clay soil
