Allium Purple Sensation develops 12 to 15 cm (5 to 6 in) deep purple-violet spheres on 90 cm (36 in) stems in late spring. The Van Noort package contains 10 Allium bulbs size 12/14 for fall planting 15 cm (6 in) deep and apart.

 Hardy in Zones 4 to 10, this purple ornamental onion prefers sun and fertile, loose, sharply drained soil. Its stems structure borders, attract pollinators, and provide excellent cut flowers. After bloom, dry heads remain graphic while neighbouring foliage naturally conceals yellowing leaves. Deer generally avoid established plants, although all parts must remain away from pets. This pollinator friendly Allium remains equally valuable fresh, dried, and standing in the garden. A 90 cm tall Allium creates clear vertical rhythm.
