Fiddle Leaf Fig Care
Ficus Lyrata, or more well known as a Fiddle Leaf Fig is a very popular houseplant! You may recognize this beauty in all of the home magazines. Ficus Fiddle Leaf is loved for its beautiful, large foliage and tree-like form.
Light
• Bright indirect light, with some direct sunlight
• Turn your plant every couple of weeks so that the plant gets light from all sides and does not become lop-sided
Water
• Allow soil to become dry to the touch
• Water thoroughly when dry-allow for water to seep out of your drainage holes
• If your plant does not get enough water, new leaves will turn brown and drop. If your plant is over-watered, the oldest leaves will turn brown and drop
Fertilizer
• Use Schultz Liquid Plant Food 10-15-10 every time you water from April-September
Growing Tips
• Cold drafts from windows, doors and air-conditioning units may cause its leaves to dry out and drop
• Find a home for your plant and do not move it! Figs get stressed out when they get moved around too much
• Consider placing on a pebble tray or near a humidifier
• Wipe down leaves regularly to remove dust and check for pests
