Succulent Care

Succulents are some of the easiest plants to care for if you remember one thing:
Never over water!
Light
• Bright light. Cannot tolerate low light spaces!
• Direct sunlight in the winter.
Water
• Allow to dry before watering and when leaves feel soft.
• Water sparingly.
Fertilizer
• Use a Cactus fertilizer during the spring and summer. Never more than twice a season.
• Never use during November through to end of February.
We like to use the “Tip of the Nose Test” when we water! Gently pinch one of the succulent leaves and note the firmness. Next, touch the tip of your nose, if the firmness of the leaves feels like the tip of your nose, you don’t need to water! Gently pinch your earlobe, if the leaves feel like your earlobe, give your soil a small amount of water.
Use a small tipped watering can or even a turkey baster and make sure to only water at the base of the plants. Don’t get the leaves wet. Water until the water just starts to trickle into the gravel & charcoal layer.
